O Christmas Tree
I just love Christmas. As soon as December starts, I'm ready to decorate the tree, make yummy goodies, wear woolly sweaters, watch Christmas movies, go caroling, and all the other fun Christmas-related activities. But most of all, it's about the tree. I love the cozy, warm feeling a room lit by a Christmas tree has. I have to have the lights on whenever I'm anywhere near the tree. This morning, I even turned it on while I was doing my Jane Fonda tape. Luckily my insane jumping around didn't disturb it too much.
This year, I think our tree is really the best yet. It's a bit taller then in years past and so we don't need to put it on top of my old trunk (insert tree trunk joke here). It's so much bigger that we actually put two stands of lights on it... one colored and one white. We also added some ribbon, a cranberry garland, and the assorted array of ornaments we've collected over the years (including, of course, the pickle ornament). My love for the tree got me thinking... why wait till December? Why not keep it up year round? I think I'll plan on keeping it at least through the winter. I just hope Spike doesn't notice. He's not too keen on vacuuming.
