It's Christmastime in the city...

Man, was it cold last night. I can deal with the cold... it stings your nose and bites your toes... but I can take it. It was the wind! It just cuts right through you and chills you to the bone. Spike and I bundled up for our walk to Harvard Square. I forced him to wear a hat and a scarf (which he kept calling an "ascot") and I had on my usual two pairs of pants, two pairs of socks, sweater, puffy vest, coat, gloves, hat, and scarf.

Spike and I have our own tradition of going to the Border Cafe to celebrate Christmas before I leave town for the homeland. Well, it's a fairly new tradition. We went last year in the middle of a blizzard and really enjoyed the quiet of the city with the falling snow. We even saw someone skiing down Memorial Drive! So this year we decided we would do it again, despite the frigid temperatures.

We kept up a brisk pace on our way there, not only to keep warm, but also because we were envisioning all the chips and salsa we would eat. We passed some pretty storefronts along the way and Spike waited patiently while I took pictures of them:The lights in Harvard Square made everything look so festive. Even the Coop looked adorable:
There were beautiful starbursts of lights hung above the streets:And Harvard is pretty damn picturesque anytime of year:

But all of our walking and all of my photography made me realize what Christmas is all about:MERRY CHRISTMAS!
