Spike and I decided we were really going to "do" Christmas this year. The tree is up, the stockings are hung, we open our advent calendar every morning and I think we've watched every Christmas movie in the entire world. Okay, that may be an exaggeration, but it sure feels that way!We made it our personal conquest this year to watch as many Christmas movies as we could in order to get in the "spirit." We started out with "Shrek the Halls," which was on TV right before "The Grinch..."(the real one, I refuse to watch the one with Jim Carrey). Then we got a whole bunch of movies from Netflix and Blockbuster, including "Love Actually," "Fred Claus," "Christmas Do-Over" (a weird ABC Family movie with Jay Mohr that kind of reminded me of "Groundhog Day"), "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas," "The Holiday" (poor Spike did not realize this was such a chick flick), "The Muppet Christmas Carol," "Mickey's Christmas Carol," and "Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too" (the last two just happened to be on TV last night and we were bored, we didn't actually rent them).
Anyway, by now, you'd think we'd be tired of Christmas movies, but no, we're still going strong. We went to the movies last night to see "Four Christmases" and we still have to see "Elf," "Christmas in Connecticut," and the be all and end all, "A Charlie Brown Christmas." I can't wait!
