Mother's Day

Well, Baby George arrived late last night and both mother and baby are healthy and happy.  Rose missed Mother's Day by a few days, but my mother and I celebrated enough to compensate!

We started on Saturday, when Spike and I drove across Massachusetts to meet my mom for whitewater rafting at Zoar Outdoor.  We all had a great time on the river, despite the rainy weather and despite my mom's terrified face in this photo!
Mom and I had some more quality time together on actual Mother's Day.  After a delicious (I hope) breakfast-in-bed, we went to church and then hit the road back to Boston.  We visited the haunted Hoosac Tunnel, which seriously gave me chills,
visited the Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls,
a mill turned into a bookstore with a waterfall running under it,
and a park called the Bear's Den with another gorgeous waterfall!

Even though Sunday is the official observance of Mother's Day, we all know that every day is Mother's Day, so my mom and I continued the celebration on Monday.  I took the day off of work and we visited Marblehead, Massachusetts, where we had lunch by the water,
sunned ourselves on the rocks,
and then went to the airport to pick up another fabulous mother and aunt!
