Kayaking and Biking
Spike and I have been doing some other activities this summer besides just eating vegetables. Early this spring, I purchased a season pass to the Charles River Canoe and Kayak company, which means I got to kayak whenever I wanted all summer long! My friend, Rose, also purchased a
season pass and so we've gone as much as possible. The first few outings were a little rough because the spring wind really made the Charles choppy with waves crashing over the bows of our kayaks. The Charles isn't really known for its cleanliness, so I was worried about getting wet, but I haven't started glowing yet. Once summer heat really started, some of the best breezes were found out on the water and it was such a treat to be able to enjoy them! We also rented from some of the other locations in Newton and Allston, where the river was a bit cleaner and less crowded. I've enjoyed all the time I got to spend on the water this summer and I'm going to miss it once the season ends!

the rescue and brought my bike out from the homeland. I was very nervous at first about riding it on the streets of Boston, but apart from one minor meltdown, I soon got the hang of it. Though I prefer riding on the trails and paths around the Charles, I can go on the street if I have to (even though street riding sometimes leads to exploding hummus containers that spray over my entire body including my face, arms, legs, and feet). It's been such a great summer filled with fun outdoor activities... I'm sad to see it go!
