Gypsy Blood

My schoolteacher mother used to hang quotes about October around her room every fall. My favorite was "There's something in October sets the gypsy blood astir." I'm not sure who said it but I've always loved it. This picture makes me think of that quote. I took it this morning from my front porch. The sun was just rising and the golden trees were making the colors of the sky seem even more pronounced. Doesn't it just scream gypsy blood? Another of my favorite quotes is, "Oh sun and skies and clouds of June, and flowers of June together, ye cannot rival for one hour, October's bright blue weather." It's true! Although June holds the anticipation of summer and some pretty sunny skies, it's really quite boring when compared with a crisp autumn day. Have you ever seen a bluer sky than one in October? Or is it just the beautiful changing leaves that make the sky seem so blue? This is what I see when I step off my front porch every day.
It takes my breath away! I offer up the following quote: Leaves, please stay this fiery color all year! Sky, stay so blue! Hmm.... I think it needs some work.
