... sets the gypsy blood astir!
The past few weeks have been busier than ever! I had a great trip to California that involved seeing a lot of cousins and hanging with the best sister in the world. She acted as hostess and tour guide from Long Beach, to Orange, to San Diego, and on. We saw beautiful buildings in Balboa Park and have an In N Out Burger picnic on the beach!
It was a quick trip, but I got to do a ton and see so much all because of Erin!
The next weekend, I had to work again, but Spike and I took advantage of some free time to go on a hike one morning and then take a trip to the ocean. I got to put my feet in the Atlantic and the Pacific in the same week!
Spike and I made our annual pilgrimage to the Homeland and the top of Mt. Greylock for our anniversary celebration the weekend after. We traveled through New Hampshire and Vermont, enjoying the foliage and apple cider donuts along the way.
The weather for our trip up Greylock was just as awful as it had been for the past two years, but I'm starting to enjoy the mist and rain up there. It feels so cozy and a little bit spooky. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my mom and remembered
all the fun we had two years ago. At least it didn't snow like last
year!
Columbus Day weekend was the following weekend and that was also full of autumn adventures. Spike's friend, Greg, and his family, visited from Arizona and so we spent much of the week and weekend acting as tour guides with the Wesleys and enjoying the gorgeous fall weather!
We took trips to Rockport and Gloucester, as well as Revere Beach and New Hampshire... lots of beautiful scenery and fun adventures!
Last weekend was one of my favorite events... the Head of the Charles in Cambridge! Spike and I went down to the Charles on Saturday morning and we met up with Lynn and Meghan, as well as Lynchie. We all had a fun time enjoying the weather and cheering on the rowers.
Of course that wasn't enough for us on an October Saturday, so then we drove to Parker's Maple Barn in New Hampshire for lunch with the Welseys. We had a great time eating maple-flavored everything and even got to enjoy a walk in the woods after. Hooray for fall!
