Caves and Ladders

There's a hike in New Hampshire that I've been wanting to do since I first read about it, which was approximately five years ago.  I've previously mentioned that when selecting suitable hikes, I require them to be under seven miles, offer views and a summit, and also be loop trails.  However, I didn't mention that they should also require something totally awesome... like ladders and caves!

When I first read the trail description for the Mt. Morgan and Mt. Percival trail, I was so excited to see the features included summits, views, ledges, loop hike, caves, and ladders.  It sounded like the perfect hike!  Well, for one reason or another, I never got the chance to try this amazing hike until last weekend.  Spike and I invited Lynchie to join us as we made the drive up to Holderness, New Hampshire and after the years of anticipation and excitement for this hike, I was not disappointed.

We scaled ladders,

squeezed through caves,

scrambled up cliffs,

saw scenic vistas,

and summited two mountains in the process!

It was a great hike and definitely worth the wait!
