Thanksgiving Eve

I'm wearing moccasins right now. I didn't order them to arrive just in time for Thanksgiving on purpose... it just happened. I wasn't planning on dressing my feet up as Native Americans for Thanksgiving, but now that I have them on, I don't think I'll ever take them off. They are so amazingly comfortable! I'm pretty sure the "Indians" didn't supply the Pilgrims with faux-fur lined, suede shoes with a bow accent, but they should have. We could add it to the list of survival skills those Native Americans imparted on the Pilgrims to keep them alive all winter. I'm also pretty sure my tacky take on history is pretty politically incorrect.

At least my Thanksgiving history isn't as confused as some versions. One of my favorite Thanksgiving stories involves my mother and aunt traveling to Plymouth, Massachusetts as teenagers to see all of the touristy things there.... Plimouth Plantation, Plymouth Rock, and of course, the Mayflower. They were both flirting with the workers on the Mayflower when my aunt decided to show off her knowledge of all things Pilgrim by asking, "Where are the Nina and the Pinta?" Oops!

And then there's Spike's good friend who, upon traveling to a casino around Thanksgiving, made sure to thank all of the Native Americans working there for giving us Thanksgiving. I'm pretty sure he didn't win big that day.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Here's hoping your only faux pas tomorrow is eating too much!
