Victory is sweet!

On Saturday night, Spike and I were crowned the 2010 Gingerbread Competition Champions! It may have been a little bit of restitution for last year, since I had complained about it all summer, but it still was nice to be recognized for all of our hard work. And hard work it was! We finished up on Friday night, our fourth consecutive evening of gingerbreading. We erected the towers, decorated the landscape with coconut snow, and put up some other buildings made of mini Charleston Chews, Tootsie Rolls, and Rolos. Once that was done, we made some trees out of Bugles and put them on the Esplanade and in strategic areas around the city. Saturday morning, we put the cupola on top of the State House, added the red light to the top of the old Hancock building, and we were done!

Here it is, in all of its prize-winning glory:And here's a look at the competition:Two houses with a kid's play area or daycare,
a house with a snowplow, and a Wizard of Oz themed house, complete with munchkins and lollipop kids!

They all looked great, but what do you think? Did we deserve the victory?

Incredible. What do you do with it now that you've won? - Donate it to a home for sugar addicts?
