Christmas-y and Birthday-ey

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  As in previous years, Spike and I have been trying to take advantage of all of the holiday events and activities surrounding the Christmas season.  We both love this time of year so much that we try to pack as much in as we can!

We started the month by going to the Christmas parade in Andover and the tree lighting in North Reading with our friends, the Wesleys.  Besides putting us in the festive spirit, it allowed us to spend time with Jay and Michelle and their two adorable boys, Gavin and Jackson.  We saw Rockettes-imitators and multiple bagpiping groups at the parade, and took a tractor ride to an old schoolhouse and visited Santa at the tree lighting celebration.

The next weekend was Wakefield's Holiday Stroll, where we were joined by the Wesleys and Lynchie in exploring our downtown, sipping hot cocoa, checking out ice sculptures, and listening to concerts by local talent.  It was a fun time, and the fact that it had been snowing all day definitely helped to put us in the Christmas spirit!

Christmas was put on hold last weekend, as David came to visit us to celebrate his 23rd birthday.  We had a fun time exploring the coast, despite some gross and rainy weather, and enjoyed a fun birthday dinner at the Kowloon.  I hope he had a fun time because we certainly enjoyed helping him celebrate!
