September Eve

Tomorrow is September and I'm sad. I know September can still have nice weather and is still officially summer, but it doesn't feel that way. The nights are already cooler, which is good for sleeping without AC, but definitely spells the beginning of the end of summer.

The one good thing is that the colder air is a lot more comfortable for running. I'm training for a half marathon and so lately I've been doing a bit more running than usual. Yesterday, for example, I ran seven miles. That's a lot of running if your usual is three miles, like mine is, and I have the blisters and bloody toes to prove it.

Yesterday, Rose, Aren, and I were on a mission to find Marky Mark's house. The BU track website lists a bunch of local runs and one of them takes you by Mark Wahlberg's mansion in Brookline. We started out well because we'd done the first part last week, when we ran six miles out to Jamaica Pond. However, after some wrong turns and some forced turn-arounds, we realized it was a lost cause and headed back. Thank goodness Aren and Rose have run around that area a lot or we would have been lost roaming the hilly back roads of Brookline, searching for Good Vibrations until the end of time.
